IUI with partner sperm is infertility treatment method, when partner’s sperm sample is passed into the woman’s uterus. Intrauterine insemination can be used in certain cases of both man’s and woman’s infertility.

During long-term of cohabitation, woman’s vaginal mucous membrane often produces antibodies for partner’s sperm components. These antibodies recognise partner’s sperm as foreign body and prevent semen access to woman’s vagina. Also intrauterine insemination is recommended in case of anatomical and physiological malformations of male or female genital.

Indications in case of male infertility

Indications for IUI with partner sperm in case of male infertility:

  • subfertile sperm;;
  • sexual dysfunction;
  • retrograde ejaculation;
  • penile or urethral development abnormalities;
  • small amount of ejaculate and high sperm viscosity.
Indications in case of female infertility

Indications for IUI with partner sperm in case of female infertility:

  • the presence of anti-sperm antibodies;
  • state after cervical surgery;
  • cervical infertility factor;
  • ovulatory dysfunction;
  • unexplained infertility.
